For that design in the rubber feel you want I would consider using vinyl (or flock for the velvet feel). That would be a really simple design to do and with vinyl you only have a minimum of 1.

Have a look at xpres.co.uk under consumables-xpres cut and themagictouch is another site to look at.

based in the midlands (telford), have checked out the sites you gave me they look a good option

im not sure of the difference between vinyl and plastisol transfer however i think either will be fine

however with plastisol i think i can request a heavier print so it appears slightly raised from the garment

its hard to find good printers in the uk

thanks!

I know that's why I prefer to do it myself.

Have you looked at targettransfers or ja-int for transfers? They do special effect screenprinted transfers that you apply yourself, you just need a heatpress.

They wash pretty good, contact both and ask for samples. I have not had the plastisol ones done, but I may order soon as my vinyl cutter is not working so they are the alternative. If you call they are very helpful and will advise you on the best product for your application.

Target custom ones are the ones you want to look at.

Have a look at printwearandpromotion.co.uk and subscribe to the free magazine, it's full of contacts.

Lee,

Thanks again for the replys i have contacted the companies and they are sending me samples. Traget transfers recoomended the econofilm as the thickest vinyl.

as my final question can i ask if you know of any companies that will cut the vinyl into the pattern i want? i dont have a cutter but will buy a heat press as they are not that expensive on ebay so i'm lead to believe

thanks again mate

Not heard of a transfer that needs 220 before, but I suppose Ja must know what they are talking about.

I did offer a cutting service, but my cutter is not working at the moment, sorry I can't help. If I get a new one or get this working soon I'll let you know.

Maybe put an advert on here in classifieds and get some bids to do the work.

Have you asked for samples off xpres and themagictouch yet? They are always cheaper than Target for vinyl.

apparently the look i am after is a double layer plastisol screen print!

If it's a plastisol screen print then you would have to talk to a screen printer. I presume its just printed twice to make it thicker.

I forgot to mention Grafityp.co.uk as well for vinyl. I got some siser vinyl off them a while back and it was really thick compared to the others I use. give them a call and get a swatch or samples. It might state in the specs which one is thickest, probably grafiflex standard.
