Hey everyone.

I've been reclaiming and dehazing a bunch of screens and I've found that any screen that I printed white ink through, there is more of a ghost image than screens that I printed other colors through.

I've been using Franmar d-HAZE and I really like it. It's even gotten hazing out of screens that I've had sitting for like a year because of the condition they were in. I had been using RhinoClean HR 2800 and it was not giving me good results, and it is a nasty acid that you have to wear gloves when you work with it.

Just wondering what's up with this white ghosting, it's not causing any problems (yet), but the other screens come out perfect.

Thanks,

Nick

love franmar stuff. changed over to their products and seem so far that I like their stuff. I too have had some issues but I think its the ink color that seems to stain the mesh. some of the haze goes but I did reprint on some that had a forest green stain and didn't have an issue.

Not to be your mom, but Franmar recommends you use splash goggles and nitrile or neoprene gloves when using this product--I've never understood why they never show this in their ads.
I used some deHaze on some crudded-up roller frames I bought. I found that it really dries out your skin on your hands if you don't wear gloves, kind of like the purple alkaline cleaners you can buy that warn you not to use on aluminum. Anyway, it even softened up a thin pair of nitrile gloves to the point of falling apart. It wasn't as though I was dipping my hands in the stuff, either. They must be using some nuclear soybeans to manufacture it.

Good info.... So I looked at an old Printwear from last year just to make sure I was thinking of the right company--and there it is, a lady smiling holding a spray bottle of bean-e-doo, next to a picture of the same lady with gloves, goggles, and a face mask--using mineral spirits. I guess, all's fair in love, war, and marketing.

Nuclear soybeans... sounds like a good band name. :)
