I just had to do a display last week for my booth. I sell a large variety of items so I got a "bin" that is 8.5 x 8.5. my widest decal is 8". I used black matboard as dividers between each design and I put the decal on the black to show clearly how it will look on glass. At the top I put the name of the decal and its price. Now customers can flip through the display looking at all the designs and then reach in behind to get the one(s) they want. I took pictures of what the vinyl looks like on the mat board, but they are at home now, I will post a few tonight. One could also buy smoked plex in a large sheet and put a bunch of decals on it. I am thinking of doing that for next year and it can lean, or hang up below the decal box.

Thats sounds like a good idea but i think i would like to displyay them on plexi with the prices then if they want something i could get it for them, not sure were everett is but were im at i thinkpeople might tend to let a couple slip out of the box into their pocket when im turned around. how much does a sheet of plexi cost and were can i get it
You might want to find a local sign supplier, they may have some extra plex/acrylic sitting around. Generally acrylic comes in sheets ranging from 4'x8', 2'x4', 2'x2' and 1'x2'.

One of my previous employers used the following companies:
Montroy (Montroy Sign Supplies - Products - Home)
Johnson Plastics (Webb Distributors)
GE Polymershapes (SABIC Polymershapes Home Page) I think they changed names or something as google brings it up as SABIC

I personally have ordered some supplies from Johnson Plastic and haven't had any issues, but I haven't ordered any acrylic yet (mostly sublimation and some nameplates).

Manny, the folks at my events are dressed up in English breeches or are wearing skin tight western show clothes and I would be very put out if they didn't have the money to pay for a $5 decal if they can afford to show a horse. I sell many smaller items that sit out all weekend and so far I have not had anything palmed.../knock on wood. Who knows with the current economy:) Regardless, I still like the idea of smoked plexi with all decals attached, I think it would look nice. I would even want to frame the plexi with a nice wood (it would also keep the edges protected in transport). One thing to watch for if you are mobile is that plexi scratches easily.

Thanks i will probably make a box like yours TM and get a sheet of plexi just in case items start missing.
I sell One color cut decals for car windows.
These are cut in white Oracal 651.
For a display I use 3 foot by 10 foot Black banners the white decals shows up great on this.
I have a neon color number near each decal and a file system using envelopes and milk crates.
Cheap,Simple, and lightweight set up.

The banner idea is what I would suggest but you literally cant put everything you can make on display. Its better to have some examples with a banner saying what you offer. I love decal bins and folks rummaging through them to find what they like. It keeps folks around your booth and open for conversation. 8" decals one for 5 three for 10 is what we do and those bins usually pay for the event and open the door for custom graphics.
if your still looking for plexi glass, look in your phone book under plastics / plastic suppliers

All great ideas folks! Thanks!

Thinking of combining a display (banner or plexi) with the bin idea........
for the decals are you putting clear mask on them or static cling vinyl?
would someone mind posting the instructions you give with the decals, for application to the customer?
Also for cars window decals what is the most poplular sizes you cut? 4x4, 5x6 ect
Yep, great ideas, banners is what i use and 2 blank coroplast boards. I would also go to your nearest sign supplier and see what they have.
The plexi glass that I have found has been at the local lumber store (Lowe's, Home Depot etc.) There you can have them cut it for you. My kids kept breaking my glass for the light table/exposure unit so I went plexi for this and 4 years later still working like a champ.
thanks for the info
Also for cars window decals what is the most poplular sizes you cut? 4x4, 5x6 ect
The most popular size for window decals that I cut would be 5.75 x 5.75 inches.

I use clear mask for auto decals.

I saw a vender at a fair with a rubber stamp and he would stamp instructions on the back of the decals.

I was thinking of making up business cards with the instructions on the back.

i have a brother printer that i print my directions with i also have the stamp but like the printer better dont even use tha stamp any more and it is a self inking one that is only about 2months old used maybe 10 times
