Hi, my name is Dan and I am from Schaumburg, IL. I am looking for some general advice. I have always been interested in the idea of making t-shirts however, I have never done so. I cannot find any local places to show me the ropes, nor do I know where to go to school for this. If anyone can give me any advice on what to do, I'd greatly appreciate it. If anyone knows any companies in the Schaumburg area that is looking to hire at their t-shirt company please let me know. I have a Bachelors in Digital Media Production and I have a clean record.

There are a lot of videos on Utube that can give you some ideas. Also some good books. Scott Fresner's "How to Print T-Shirts for Fun and Profit" is still one of the best. Welcome to the forum and read all you can here. Many good ideas and helpful hints. God Bless.

Dan, Check out the local want ad's for screen printing. Also check on Craigslist in the Part time section. Maybe you can find a Part time position that can turn into a full time position.

You might be able to find a Screen Printing class from searching on Google or Yahoo for screen printing classes. Also find a ISS show they have one day classes during the shows.

What ever you invest in a class you'll get back when you start screen printing yourself.
