I have some vector graphics that have a hundred tiny little lines in them. I guess paths? When I go to cut them the cutter starts cutting those tiny little lines instead of the basic outline. How to get it to cut out the outline and not all those little paths?

Do I have to save it first as something else? I use AI.

merge function in pathfinder tools.... but sometimes it is simple and other times it is a nightmare...

I clicked join paths but it gave me a message that you had to join two end points which is total gibberish to me. I clicked it a few times and pulled the design away from itself and it saved it as an outline and I deleted the original. I have no idea what I did but it worked. Thank you for setting me on the right path
