I have a GCC Expert 24. I've noticed sometimes that one or more objects in something I cut out doesn't cut all the way. The objects look fine in Corel. I copy and paste them in Greatcut. And they look fine in Greatcut. And in the preview simulation in Greatcut to see how it will cut, the preview cuts fine.

I made some squares and a circle in Corel. Copy and pasted them in Greatcut to use as a test cut. I took a pic to show an example of it not cutting all the way even though they were created as solid objects in Corel:

I did notice that if I rotated the above object in Greatcut and recut it. That the uncut area moved.

So I'm thinking it's something with Greatcut or with the cutter itself.

Sign up using GCC club..off GCC website you will find a manual and direction on installing the plugin for Corel.

You simple design in Corel and the plugin will include an icon on your tool bar that you click and the Corel object will open in to great cut automatically opening it.

See if this helps..maybe the copying and pasting is losing translation.

Were those photos of the actual images that were cut?

Yes, that's a pic of the actual vinyl cut.

Sometimes I'll be weeding away, then all of a sudden a piece lifts up that didn't get cut all the way.

I'll try that plug in and see what that does.

What are your settings?
What are you cutting?
How's your cut strip? Any deep grooves?
How's your blade, how old is it?
May sure it's not broken at the tip
That was a new blade.

But it's a software or cutter problem. As I rotated the design in greatcut 90*. And the area it didn't cut rotated with the object. I then rotated the object to 180* and recut it. And the area uncut rotated with the object. So software problem, or cutter problem.

Looks like with Corel Draw. You go to File, then you send it to Greatcut. Only problem with that is alot of times I have a bunch of objects in a file and I only want to cut one object. But it would send them all. Other thing is it has you save the file. Sometimes I'm working in a file, but don't want to save it. But I'd have to save it in order to send it to Greatcut. But I guess I could save the one object in a file by itself to the desktop or something. Send it to Greatcut, then delete the file.

I guess post a link to what video you are talking about. Or write out the name of the video.

The video I watched says change lines on all objects to .001. Which is a pain to do. Then go to file, click print. What that does is cut from Corel.

You mentioned something about a plugin that lets you select an object from Corel and have it open to Greatcut? I'd much rather cut from Greatcut as I don't have to mess with changing everything to .001.

The video you are taking about is for the contour cut. The plugin is needs to be installed into your Corel.

In GCC Club, make sure you install the drivers of the site they are the newest and up to date.

look for the multi skin download, I will try and get you the link when I get to my computer.

where did you purchase your cutter?

GCC dealers are supposed to be first line of support. You should be able to call them to help with your setup if you are having problems.

If they direct you to call GCC , please PM and I will help you out.

or you can email me [email protected], I will be near my computer tomorrow.
I guess I'll call GCC to see if they know about this plug in you are talking about that lets you open Greatcut with the object you selected in Corel Draw. Because I watched both Contour videos, and there wasn't even anything in there about Greatcut. They just showed about something getting cut out. So, I still don't know what video you are referring to.

I already have the latest drivers and all is up to date. I did look through the download section and didn't see anything special to download. So, I should already have it all downloaded then.

I mentioned Multi Skin earlier and Jason is using Corel.

Calling GCC, shouldn't be the answer your dealer is. The MS download is available online.

When you are in Corel with your art work vector ready..the plug in (icon) which should be on your toolbar

Simply click on the icon Great Cut will automatically load up with your art work.

Usually ready to cut, but doesn't hurt to test it out.

HI I am haveing the same problem not cutting the hole design I thought it was me. But I changed the blade presser everything and it still only cutts 3/4 of the design. It's like it is skipping over part of the design and I have the GCC cutter and I am using my wingpc 2010 never had this problem before. Let me know if you find out what the problem is. It can't be the software it is the cutter we are using two different softwares.
