hiya.. whats the best route to go for a cutter for T shirt vinyl and JPSS mainly for dark shirts, what im trying to achieve is that white border left around the image on the transfer paper for darks.

i currently have a cameo 2 and for the life of me i cant get a consistant outline, to be honest its a bloody nightmare.

i was told i need a cutter with a magic eye, if anyone can vouch for one or even if thats where i should be looking i will be eternally grateful .. thank you

I've got a Cameo 2. Never used it once for the last 3 years since buying an 18" Silver Bullet cutter. The optical registration system on the Cameo is [email protected]! Feed rollers are [email protected]! Cutting speed an force are [email protected]! It's basically a toy. If you are going into business you'd be better of with a more robust, reliable cutter.

My Silver Bullet has a red laser dot alignment for print & cut that is deadly accurate. I wasted tons of expensive materials with the Cameo and now waste nothing with the SB. My machine paid for itself (£800) in the first month or two.

ignore that reply.. ive just found it
Yeah, that was the brand new, just launched Platinum model.

The SB normally comes with a choice of cutter software. I chose Sure Cuts A Lot which I've just upgraded to version 5 which has nesting capabilities. Very useful when cutting vinyl.

Another thing is that the SB has a max cutting force of 1.25 kg. This make it a real beast for many other cutting projects, other than vinyl, that you may wish to attempt. For instance, I have sold thousands of personalised magnetic party invitations (that stick on a fridge etc) which are printed on printable magnetic sheets and contour cut with the SB. My Cameo could never handle such thick material without wasting tons of it.

You can also buy the tools to engrave, emboss, etc with this machine.
