Cut and Sew?

1500 Views 5 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  aishaehale
I want to make a simple slightly extended tee. So it would have to be cut and sew. I can sew but not on as big a scale as big company would. I do need a small amount around 50 shirts and 50 shorts. Made from french terry cotton and mesh. I can make a sample shirt myself. How does the whole cut and sew process work.
I can sew myself, Draw myself, and I am intermediate at photoshop and illustrator. Please help point me in the right direction and how much does the cut and sew usually cost per-shirt or per design

Depends on a number of factors.

1) Finding local (or out of state) seamstresses/company to outsource. Prices obviously vary here. Local seamstress could be the cheapest, but a larger company may give better quality.
2) Material used. For a batch of 50, you would probably supply your own fabric. Larger orders/bigger companies print the designs on blank fabric, then cut & sew.
3) Labels. You'd probably want custom sizing & branding labels (neck tags, hem tags, etc)

For our cut & sew department, we supply shirts to the seamstress (wholesale Alstyle 1701), draw sketches & buy fabric rolls, neck tags & our seamstresses work their magic.

You'd probably be looking at anywhere from $6-13 total (with your description), depending on fabric/sewing/shirt costs.
Believe the price would be just under 5$.

Do you cut and sew or know any companies that do?
