Hi guys - I am new to this forum.

I was wondering when you guys start your business, do you guys all order from Whole sellers like SanMar, American Apparel etc.? ... What is the likelihood that someone would order from a manufacturer directly lets say for custom fit they would like...

Seeing how many lines start with hardly enough money to buy a couple cases of beer, I suspect very few buy direct from a mill....Minimums for custom garments will be 1,000+ for each size and colour....So it will depend on how much capital you have.....

You're right, it is much better to buy from whole sale companies that already supplying similar products.

Just curious, these wholesale companies like SanMar etc. Do they have contracts with manufacturers overseas to make their brands? I guess Gildan, Hanes are different brands that SanMar carries... So do they also have contracts with manufacturers and then these items are shipped to SanMar for distribution to smaller businesses?

Wholesalers are cool, but you have to order different types of tees from them. Some customers like the thin tees and others like the heavyweight types.

A company such as SanMar offers an array of t-shirts and clothes from different brands. But they also have their own house brand, I believe its Coal Harbour, which they source and distribute themselves.
