Hello! So here's my Q....

I'm using photoshop to do an index separation (first time)... And I'm using the magic wand tool to select each colour. The problem is when I create the channel it's not clear cut black and white, which is what I am going for, but it's a percentage (grayscale). I even tried selecting the specific channel to change the levels but it wouldn't allow me to make any alterations to the channel.

Any suggestions on what I should do?!?!
Greatly appreciated!

if I understand you correctly , you are trying to separate using spot color channels. If you have your selection in the channel but in greyscale(or shades of grey) what you can do is take your wand and click in the white area , then select->inverse then edit->fill->choose black from the drop down menu.Everything now that was in greyscale is now solid black. Hope I was following you correctly with your problem.
