I use a heat press and plastisol transfers.
Some of the designs on shirts I printed are cracked after just a few washes. Is this normal? Is there something that can be done to prevent it? Does it happen with screenprinting?
Cracking usually happens when the ink is not cured properly. Are you following the instructions for temperature and heat times from the plastisol printer? Do you know the accuracy of your heat press temps?
The plastisol printer gave me a range of temperatures, and I usually stay within that range. I haven't tested the accuracy of my heat press, but it is brand new and it's a Stahls' Hotronix with automatic release.
Maybe I need to play around with the temperatures a little more.
