I understand that according to the USA textile and wool act, t-shirts must indicate the country of origin in the neck label, like this:

("Made in India")

What if my business is not registered in the US, and I'm not a US citizen, but I'm shipping my t-shirts over to the US to sell (online, direct to consumer)?

What will happen if the US government finds out?

Does US customs open up the shipment container and take out my t-shirts and check the inner label?:confused::confused:

If the Country of Origin is not indicated, they'll dispose the entire shipment container?

Anything produced after 1891 meant to go to the US needs to have the country of origin on the product. The Tariff Act of 1890 is the law that requires this.

So, the answers to your questions:

1. Yes, the country of origin must be printed on the garment.

2. I'm not exactly sure what the consequences are, but according to the Federal Trade Commission's website, there are a few actions that can be taken if you are caught.

3 & 4. US Customs, much like other countries can open random containers for inspection. What they decide to do to the shipment or you is up to them.

Here's a link to the Federal Trade Commision's website that you'll be able to see the laws and what is required from you.
