My wife noticed a commerical by CustomInks on the TV offerring t-shirt printing for 1-1000. However, if you go to the site and just do up one design, it comes to $24.95 and with a 2 week ship guarantee. To get a 1 week ship guarantee you have to pay an addition 25%. Not sure how this will pan out, but, very surprised to see a commerical on national tv for t-shirt printing.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the commercial, but I wouldn't be too worried. There's tons of competition already but as long as you have top notch service and top notch quality you will be fine.

It seems like every year there is something new that is going to be the "End of Screenprinters" but we're still here, creating cooler prints than ever.

I dont think it will be the end, always got to think most people dont know what they want on a t-shirt till they see a t-shirt they like. Plus a lot of people arent into designing their own. I also think that lots of people prefer to buy locally cause they get it quicker and personal interaction. Where there you log on and do things and pray it looks right.

End of Screen printing? I highly doubt it. Lots of newfangled decoration procedures have come along over the years. Some have stuck around but most have disappeared to that great marketing buzzsaw in the sky. Screen printing is the bedrock of a craft that will thrive long after we're taking our dirt naps.

Btw, Custom Ink contracts with many local screen printers across the USA to help it fulfill it's gargantuan reach. It's not all under one roof.

I don't think so as they use local screen printers to print their orders. How do you think they can offer services in every market. They were talking to Veedub3 a month or so ago about doing contract printing work for them.

In theory you can buy just about everything cheaper online, however we still choose to use local companies for many of our goods. With printing most people that purchase printed goods in quantity want to have some kind of human contact. It gives them a little more feeling of control. If you've ever been sctewed on a large internet purchase, you usually won't take that route again

CustomInk is a very successful company and is 5 star in quality, customer service, and ownership. From what I understand they employ about 150 people...jobs that did not exist a short time ago. They also help support local screen printers throughout the company. So, rather than put screen printers out of business, they are keeping many of them in business and/or contributing to their success.

If you go to there site and design a t-shirt and select 1 size. I selected large and it came to $24.95
I don't think that one t-shirt is screen printed. My guess is that they are using DTG for the small orders like that.

One of DTG has been around for a long time. CafePress and Zazzle have been doing it for years (although I don't know if they've advertised on TV)
