Hey all,
What are the going hourly rates for digitizing (turning it to vector) artwork? I am very good at this and want to know how much I should be charging.

Around 30 an hour is what I have paid people to do some of our drawings when we had our digital guy sick.

I think it could also be per job. Some of the drawings I've vectored were pretty quick, like just a few minutes. So that could equate to just a dollar or two. Other drawings have taken a few hrs as they needed to be cleaned up. So generally you could look at a drawing and if it looks like it wont be too hard, then charge $15-20. But if it looks like it needs alot of cleaning, then maybe charge by the hour.

sorry for noob question.

I've never worked with digitizing or vector programs before, but can you scan photos, sketches and drawings into the program and turn it into a vector?

That's pretty much what you do. Scan something in. Then make it into a vector which let's you make it as large as you want it and it will never get grainy.

it depends where you live and whats average income.....it can be $10 to $40........here $10 per design is good while for you even $30 can be less
