Ok, I am def a newbie at this heat press stuff so I bought all the equipment I need to get started including a version of Corel X4 that says on the box (not for commercial use) I figure this is the educational edition RIGHT?!?!?!?!?....well I think I'm making this very hard or I need another software...Im not sure what the difference is between the full version and the education edition because as far as I can see you can do everything in my version that you can in the full version except that what I create can't be used for commercial use....well what Im trying to do is take clipart that I have found on the web that of course is royalty free and tweak it a little then send it to my Roland GX 24 cutter....anytime I try to import the file to my roland that I have saved in corel as a cdr file my roland says it is a bad file then i try the copy and paste and that works but then I have trouble making it cut just the outside lines.......sorry this is so long but Im getting very discouraged with this stuff any help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! THANKS:D

Basically the only difference between the full version and educational one is VBA programs. You may not be able to add-on scripts created for Coreldraw. I am not sure if this may be affecting your cutter or not.

You might want to re-post this in the Vinyl Cutter/Plotter section. You may get a faster response there.

You can take your art, convert to bitmap, then right click the image and use the "save bitmap as" and from there you can save it anywhere in your documents because it then will not be saved as a cdr file. It works for me

Try looking at it in wireframe mode, that will show u exactly what lines will be cut. I have a Roland CX-24 and the outline width has to be .001 in order for it to cut. I'm on Corel 8 and to print I just make a box around my design highlight everything make sure it's at .001 width then hit print, it goes to my printing options I pick the roland from the menu print preview than print. hope it helps

Ok.....heres what I have done I am making my husbands shirts and putting his business name on it when I create it in coreldraw x4 it saves it as a cdr file i then can't get it to go to the roland gx 24 I need to mirror the image because Im using JPSS transfer......for some reason I can't mirror it in the roland cut software.....im missing some steps somewhere....the font im using is snowcaps and even when I try to do it without mirroring I extract the contour lines and to just cut the outer image well I drag my scale to darker so that it will just cut the outside right???? when i doesnt show a solid colored font its kinda dotty looking where the snow caps over the letters.....i hope im explaining this right

I'm pretty sure that the plug-in won't work with your version of Corel Draw. I started with the educational version and found out after some expense that you need the "FULL RETAIL" version for the cutter plug-ins to work, or any plug-in for that matter. I now have the educatuional and retail version of Corel X3 and the retail version of X4. If you want to do rhinestones without buying aditional programs, get the X4 version for the center line trace funtion for creating single line text for names and words. I bought all of them off ebay for under $100 each and called the sellers to confirm they were full retail anfter the first time with the educational version. I also payed with Pay Pal so I could stop payment if they had lied to me. Look for a lot of good feed-back from the sellers before even considering buying from them and then do the calling to check them out.
