Hey guys, new to your group, Hope your experience with dye sub might lend me some guidance.
I am retiring an epson 4880 printer(8 color) I was using it for photo printing using a 3rd party ink and refillable carts. I used to have a Richo dye sub but it died a premature death.
What is the best avenue to pursue to convert to Dye Sub. I will be printing more photos on aluminum, than graphic designs on shirts. Thanks for any help.

There really is nothing needed to be done to convert. You will want to flush it before adding the dye sub ink just to be safe. The key is to find an ink supplier that has a profile for that printer. If you want to be cautious I would ask the ink vendor for a contact that they have that is using their ink and profile and see if you can get a color swatch from them so you can see first hand the quality of ink/profile combined.
