Hey dudes, I'm beginning to think about taking orders. SMALL orders lol.

Anyway, when your customers make an order, what kind of contract or agreement do u make? Written? Verbal? What do u include in the contract? Thanks!

You mean a customer buying one of your designs from your clothing line from like your website? Why would you need a contract for that?

I think she's referring to taking custom screen print orders.

I've never signed a contract with any print shop I've ever used. I just submit PO's and we go from there. At most, I've approved an artwork sheet or a price quote.

But to understand whether it makes sense for you to use a contract, let us know what you think you want to be contractually obligated to. Are you concerned about their expectations of you? Or your expectations of them?

Make up a form similar to something you would fill out at a Jiffy Lube. If it looks like a form it won't be insulting or intimidating when you ask them to OK the paperwork, but it still is a contract. It's just a good idea not to rely on memories, they tend to be convenient. Even Jiffy Lubes want something that says what you asked for and how much it costs. Instead of check boxes uses line items so you can write in specific services, requests, and goods. Take your master to Kinkos Fedex and get a tablet of three part carbon less made up. White copy with the actual signature is for your files, canary yellow is theirs for their files, pink one goes with the delivery as an invoice. :) p.s. you can have all the legalese on the bottom but if it is too dense or wordy that's kind of off putting also .
