I've been looking over this forum, and it is really dedicated to persons who do this for a living. So, I'm wondering if m in the right spot or not......

My and my son both play foosball. He is 15, and qualified once for a spot in the U.S. junior team to go to Hamburg Germany. Was an awesome experience by the way. He has also qualified for the next one in Spain in 2019. And enough of my bragging on him....

Anyways, I had considered doing something small at home for me and him to do for a fundraiser to help ease the pain. Whether it's SP or vinyl. I'm not looking at setting up a 4-6 screen carousel. Just have a couple of screens for single colors, and possibly dual or more later.

I have looked at some different starter types (speedball), which I am sure are about as basic as you can get. And the initial cost seems better than doing vinyl.

Like I said, not looking to make a living doing this. But, is this doable with such basic equipment at home?

Thanks for your time. If any other info is needed, I can provide. Of course, if there's a better sub or even forum I should look into, I can move this.

Thanks
JJ

Hey JJ,

I got a starter kit from www.screenprinting.com about 7-8 years ago already. I'm happy with it....its a 4 color one station press. They've updated that kit since I bought it. But I know they have other smaller options or larger ones if you want. Not sure it that helps you out, but thats where I got started from. SKD

I'm getting ready to put my stuff up for sale. I was never able to get the business off the ground due to financial constraints, but enough whining. I have the Semi-pro starter kit from Ryonet. It came with a 4 color one station table top press. I also got a one color one station press just in case I needed more than 4 colors. I also got a Yudu press at a hobby shop. There are a ton of options available to you if you want to go bigger or stay small. How to videos are all over youtube and Ryonet has a lot of DVDs that take you step by step through the whole process. It's easy to do, though costly with equipment, inks, and cleaning chemicals.

This is the right place to come for information, guidance, instruction, and support.

Thanks everyone. I guess, not really having anything to do with a business needing holiday orders fulfilled, I didn't even take that into consideration. And I would imagine this is a busy time of the year for printing.

Cyclesurgeon, I believe I had watched some of your videos previously. Either way, I like woodworking also, and will keep watching.

SKD, thank you for that link. There are a lot more options on there for me to consider.

Into the T, thanks for the links. I honestly did search some, but thinking my search was to verify whether I wanted to go with the very cheap brand I mentioned. Or to just see if it would benefit me to just do a little. thanks again

lben, sorry to hear that it isn't working out for you at this moment. I wish I could purchase it from you, but that's way to much for me to go into at the moment. Good luck to you in the future

thanks everyone again,

JJ

JJ.. If you want to do screen printing and you're going to be doing stuff in small quantities, I would suggest a yudu. You can get the Yudu kit for under $250 and it has everything you need. The screens aren't the best but they will work. It comes complete, even has ink and emulsion sheets to get you started.

When you run out of supplies you can go to Ryonet at screenprinting.com to buy larger quantities. They even have screens that are a better grade. Then when business gets going you can purchase the professional grade equipment and expand your horizons. The sky's the limit! Best of luck to you.

You can get a Yudu on ebay or amazon or craft stores if you have one of those nearby.
