Hey everyone! Completely new to T-shirt design. Have worked in InDesign and Photoshop for print design/graphics--but am new to t-shirt work. What are the basics I need to know off the bat? Illustrator is better for T-shirt designs, correct?

Thanks for all the help!

:welcome:To answer your question it depends on the print method, but if you know Photoshop, then Illustrator is easier for you to learn, you'll have both Vector and Raster based graphics covered which is all you need.

A lot of folks do their designs in Photoshop and if they need a vector will pull it into Illustrator and do their conversion.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, have little to no experience with Illustrator. Can i pull any image into Illustrator to convert it to a vector image? If so--can you point me to some tutorials on how to do this? Thank you so much!

A Youtube search will turn up many tutorials on Illustrator, actually tons of them....here's one on raster to vector, but like I said there are many many more.
