sometimes when i send a psd file from the computer to the printer, the colors don't look the same. how can i manage the colors from the artwork to the printer? purples seem to have the biggest problem matching.
Getting consistent color from your color monitor and printer is not easy. Whole books and video courses are dedicated to his subject.
Once your printer color profile is installed (from the original printer CD or downloaded from the internet), choose that color profile in the Photoshop color settings (Photoshop>Edit>Color Settings). There you can turn on color management and choose the appropriate settings. These settings are based on your monitor profiles and/or your printer profiles.
Experimenting with different color settings won't be fun unless you have enough printer ink/toner and paper(a whole different topic) to play with. Good luck.
