Just starting out, I would go with the 1100 with Cobra pigment ink installed for transfers. You can also use the printer for office use. Great printer.
thanks but can i printo photos with gloss on any of these and still use it for transfers also is the regular pigment ink or do i use the high heat ink and do they sell stuff for sublimation
thanks again
Sublimation is a whole different game. You need a dedicated printer with sublimation ink. (also sold by Cobra. Not cheep) The ink you are using to print photos is prob. pigment ink. You do not need high heat ink to print transfers.
I have the CobraCIS with pigment ink for my sticker business. It prints dense blacks for transparencies for film positives as well. I'm not sure about the high-heat ink (sublimation is a registered trademark of some company, so Richard named them high-heat).
Based on the amount of ink i go through, i would have spent about $600 in cartridges but have only needed one refill kit from Richard for 50 dollars. Less overhead = more profit.

Exactly what I needed to know. I ordered my cart from them last night. I have a 50 shirt heat press order waiting for these inks but I use my 1400 for transparencies as well.
