Coal Mine/Safety Rescue Team Clip Art

I'm searching diligently for some coal mine, safety team, rescue team related clip art or vector art.

I've been told here in the midwest that the east coast has tons of this sort of artwork on t-shirts, but I'm at the end of the Internet Superhighway and have found nothing.

If there are any fellow printers out there with any knowledge of this, please share.

Thanks for your time. Amy

i've looked myself after reading your post and it looks like you'll have to make it yourself. BUT it might not be that hard. here's a link with designs that you could look to research how to build your design:

Our Newest Fire and EMS Decals from Rescuetees - ALWAYS Something New!

there are plenty of free vectors of shields that you'd probably use as the basis of the design. then incorporate the text of the city/department etc. around or within that shield and add other rescue related tools (ladders/hatchets/helmets) and you should be ok.

or this could be a mine rescue vector (i think): 'the walking in the dark image'

I come from a long line of Coal Miners and my Dad was on the Westmorland Coal Company Mine Rescue Team. I have books and books of decals from different coal mines and the thing is each individual team has their own decals and the Coal Company owns the rights to them. The only other organization that I know of is the U.S. Department of Labor Mine Safety and Health Administration holds the national rescue events and usually issues a decal for that event, which they hold the rights to.

If you do decide to make decals for the different teams please get permission from the Coal Company, I've been down that road and the only people worse are the tobacco companies.

of course. i was under the assumption that the OP was being hired to create this artwork for a rescue team. she asked for clip art which is public domain but still would have to be bought. links i provided are for referencing what's out there and what's been done in the past so she might have an idea where to begin with her design.
