Simple Seps is a RIP. Not cheap but a good price.
Actually it is not a RIP. It will not drive any printer and the halftones are created in Corel. Not only that but it will do separations and create halftones for only $119.99.

You will not find anything with these capabilities for that low of a price. It is by no means expensive. My RIP is $495 and drives up to "17 printers or $995 for up to 44" printers. SimpleSeps doesn't drive any printer but creates the halftones in advance giving you the ability to print to any printer. It won't do certain things a RIP can but it is still a viable option for people wanting to use CorelDraw for separations and halftoning.

Just use ghostscript. Print your design to a "independent postscript device" (print to file) in Corel. You can set your halftones angles and frequency in the "separations" tab in the printing menu. Your file will be saved as a .prn file which you should open with ghostscript/ghostview and then print with any printer. Voila! perfect halftones.

Is there a way to convert the prn file into ps or other file format? Specifically, a while back I was able to convert a prn file into ps but the halftoned file is not halftone anymore. I printed the halftone in gsview. I was thinking that the prn image was not really halftoned but rather the halftoning information was saved in the prn file. Anyway, is there a way to convert it into any other more common graphic file format?
