Re: Delivery Question

just wondering how do people get there t-shirts to customers and what do you recommend to impress customers, obviously you don't use bubble wrap or an envelope but what does everyone use?
The bulk of our orders are picked up by the customer at our shop, that said, we fold, bag, and tag each shirt. The bagging is a clear polyethylene bag and the shirts are folded so that you can read the left chest graphic, the tag is a color printed label with our company name, phone number, shirt size, and a thank you! applied to the outside of the bag.

We have other variables on what we do for given customers but I think you get the point.

Hope this helps.

yes thanks this has helped alot, another thing ill have to factor into my budget :(
Yeah, sometimes it's the little things that get you......

The bags are not expensive by the roll from Uline, the tags we make on our color laser printer from Avery label stock, we use to tape the bags closed but recently bought a bag sealer which works great and was not expensive (around a hundred dollars).

WOW..!!! you really bag every shirt for every customer..? that is amazing..!!! I worked at a shop that bagged shirts for 1 customer. but the customer paid for the service. I also worked at a shop that charged for EVERYTHING they might have even charged admission just to walk in the door...LOL
but for you to bag the shirts for your customers free of charge mos-def sets you apart from the rest in a good way.

Yep....but nowhere did I say it was free! LOL! actually we do contract/fulfillment printing for two customers that we bag n' tag the shirts using their logo on the labels and put inserts in the bag that they provide us....these are wholesale accounts and they want no reference to the printing company that makes the shirts for them if you follow me.

But yes we do bag n' tag probably 90% of our production, it just looks better then a box full of shirts half folded, when we sub printing out to a screen printer when they come back in house we inspect every shirt and bag n' tag them also.

About the only time we don't is if it's a charity event or a sponsored event where the shirts are going to be given out and wore that day, doesn't make a lot of sense in that case and just adds to the trash generated.

We also do several events a year where we sell our shirts & designs, it's so much easier to find the correct size with the tag on it, the customer isn't going to wear the shirt that day so being in a bag kinda' protects it while their carrying it around.

Like I said it's not that expensive to do either but it does take a little extra time. :)

Hope this helps.

I believe we use the 8x10 and the 9x12.5 the bigger bags work well with 2x and up shirts the smaller work great with all the other sizes....but my wife actually orders them so I may be off a little on the sizes.

The nice thing about the bag sealer is that you can fold over the end of the bag if the shirt is small enough to seal it and have a nice compact package.

Hope this helps.

Depends...but yes, lets say you have two smalls they would both fit in the smaller bag we use, or the bigger bag would probably hold 2 large shirts, I think you get the picture. it is one of the reasons we chose the size bags we use. I think I've even seen my wife stuff a sweatshirt (not a hoodie) in the bigger bag. LOL!

We tried using a smaller bag it was I think it was 7x8 but it was really too small for a XL shirt, not that we didn't use them but having two size bags is easier to deal with than three so we moved to the bigger bag.

Hope this helps.
