I am recently exploring the world of starting my own clothing line. I've been doing a lot of research on the subject and it seems like something I would really be into. I'll give a little information so you can give me some good advice given my situation. I would be targeting the extreme sports like downhill mountain biking, motocross, skate boarding, and bmx. My friends and I all ride so I wanted to some how turn our hobbies into a business so when we go to events, races, or skateparks and either set up booths to get our brand out or just promote through our riding, most likely both. I dont plan on doing this overnight because I am wanting to do most of this myself and need equipment and learn the knowledge of how to use it. We will have a website to try and conduct most of our business/advertising. Riding promos to put on youtube and other social networks. All this just takes time and money but I would like to get this snowball rolling. I guess some of my questions are:

* Use heat transfer or screen print?
* Where is a good place to get quality blanks and what i should look for before buying a ton of blanks i know nothing about? (I know there is a ton of places out there I just wanted personal reviews on them.)
*Just any advice in general on trying to do this?

Heat transfers may work better because you will not always know the sizes your consumers need. Silk screening works better for bulk orders. Search this site, the pros and cons of both can be found in some forum.

I have a possible marketing idea for your clothing line if you are looking into spending a little cash on marketing.

I just read about this camera called GoPro--basically started for extreme sports. It has mounts and bands to attach to virtually anything. They are trying to start their own channel on YouTube...may be something to look into. Have the riders wear your shirts and/or at the beginning of the video make a statement like "presented by ..."

The people who will be viewing these videos are your niche...something to look into.

There are a lot of forums here that address questions like yours. Your questions seem really open ended and more research looks like it needs to be done.
