Clogged screen

So I prepped my screen like usual but when I flooded the screen with ink I noticed a couple of spots on the design wouldn't even let ink through. What I mean is like when u flood it and look from the bottom of the screen you can see your design is the color of the ink but this time certain spots weren't. I already tried screen opener it didn't do anything so I went ahead and reclaimed the screen and used a differant one but I would like to know what may cause this for next time. It is a 230 mesh orange ink

Josh, it could be something as simple as dried water in the mesh. Water dries clear and will not let ink through, screen opener will not work on this either, sometimes you could try a rag with some warm soapy water and it might do the trick.

also you may not have shot the screen out completely. Sometimes a small trace of emulsion still in the image sneaks past the goalie. Often you can get it out with a little bit of reclaimer on a q-tip and paper towel (rub it out). But be careful not to ruin the image. If you give it a bunch of test print sometimes it will break away on its own.
All good info I hate I already reclaimed it I could have just tried this stuff out. And saved some time and emulsion
depending on how bad it is, your better off in starting over. Often you will spend time trying to fix a screen and end up ruining it anyway. If you got the time, patience and another screen ready to go, why not make it right!
sometimes after washing the screens right after exposure, there are emulsion residues that flow to your screens and when it dries it can cause problem..best thing to do is after wash out is to wipe your screen for excess water and dry your screens horizontally so that that residues will not drip down on your screens..
Under exposed seems to be the problem, if you have slime on the squegge side and you are drying standind up right the un exposed emulision is clogging up your screen.
