Hi.
I have an epson c88+ that I use just for farting around with. I didn't use it for awhile, and guess what? Anyway, its a few years old and I didn't pay much for it..........is it worth getting fixed?
Whats a good replacement, the WF30 or 40?

I picked up an 1100 for $100. a few months ago to do transfers with. The c88 is just an all purpose printer for farting around with. I need a farting around with printer.

Get some mini aquarium tubing and a syringe, mix original blue Windex 50% with distilled water, try to inject some into the printhead cartridge piercing nozzles. You could buy blank carts to put cleaning fluid in but for that printer it's probably not worth the price. If it's really clogged, make sure the printhead is over the parking/capping station, unplug it to prevent any surprises, and fill the ink holder up with the cleaning solution, let it soak and drain through if it can.

Of course you should already have the waste tank modification done before you try any of this! Also it could simply be air in the lines if you recently refilled it. Run one cleaning cycle if you haven't, then print one of those purge pages that has big C M Y K swatches on it (or just make one in Corel or Publisher or whatever). Print with profiling off (color mode ICM / no profiling checked).
