Clearing a clogged line

4373 Views 17 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  beanie357
Anyone have any fixes for clearing a clogged white line? My printer hasn't been sitting idle for long, but no matter what I do with my syringe, that ink won't budge. I'm irritated at the situation, but even more so that in order to replace the line I have to purchase replacements for all 8 instead of 1 or even just the 4 white tubes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Email preferred.

Thanks

the lines are in 2 groups of 4, so you shouldn't have to buy all 8. just disconnect the line at each end and force alcohol, ammonia, or Simple Green through it. pinch and massage the line to get the clog moving. then flush it out to ensure there aren't any remaining dried pieces.
Anajet doesn't sell them separately as far as I can tell. It's all 8 or nothing.
Thanks for the reply!
hmmmm. when i received my replacement set, it was just 4, but that was several years ago. try DTGinks.com, i know they sell them.

either I am blind or Anajet listed the option to just buy 4 lines. I have an extra set of cmyk lines laying around if anyone needs 'em.
Contact me by email if you are unsuccessful unclogging the line. I have some lines left over. I personally would replace the line simply because if its that clogged...its highly unlikely you be able to successfully flush that thing perfectly and it will only compound the problem. I ended up with misc. parts on the shelf after we upgraded from our FP-125 to our MP5. I also have 3 epson printheads I bought from Anajet on the shelf. I saw the option for 4 tubes after the fact. I don't recall ever seeing them before, which kind of makes me mad and suspicious.
I am having the same problem with 3 of my white lines on the Sprint. Does anyone know if the DTGinks product works on the Sprint? It seems terribly cheap for 4 lines- $1.75? Surely I am looking at the wrong product. How quickly do they ship? I've been working on this for 24 hours and with the long holiday weekend, I need to get up and running soon! Thanks for any help, guys!

Ink lines for the R1800 & R1900 modified DTG printers - $1.75
that's $1.75 per running foot.

you can try forcing alcohol, ammonia, or Simple Green so long as the lines are removed from the printer. do this over the sink or outdoors so when the clog breaks free, nothing is damaged. use your fingers to massage and break up the clogs.
If a line is that plugged, replace it. Bits could remain that would ag you even worse down the road. We'd do all 4 white (evil white) and keep the others for spares. If it happened once......

beanie357 is absolutely right. If the tubing itself is that clogged you will spend a lot of time and effort trying to clean it and never achieve good results. I would also suggest you get the original manufacturer's tubing to insure that the material composition and sizing of the tubing is correct.

are you sure the clog is actually in the lines themselves? how long has white ink been in your system? how often do you print with white ink? i've only had this happen once (in one line) and it came out with alcohol. works just fine now. but if you don't have any luck getting them clean, then i agree with the above advice of getting new lines.
How do I unhook my lines? I will order new lines on Tuesday after the holiday but in the meantime, I'm already backed up about 40 shirts and I've got another 4 days until I can get new lines (at the earliest)! My husband is going to help me through this but I can't find instructions to unhook the lines. Thanks in advance for all your help, guys!

Just loosen the brass nuts at each cartridge bay, then at each damper. remove the plastic clips and pull the lines out. they're more fun to put back in! :)
How can I get to the damper? I know this must be super simple since nobody is walking through that in their steps, but I can't seem to get into the print head carrier to get the other end of the lines. Ahhh! Thanks for your response.
have you been to training?

on the AnaJet website, in the tech support section, you'll find videos and instructions on how to get into the print head housing.

i have the FP-125 and while i think the instructions are the same on the Sprint, i'm not 100% sure.
If you leave stuff exposed like the damper connections, put tape over to not let the dampers dry out. Might want to wait till parts in hand, and btw- we keep spare dampers in house, as well as a head and cap station.
