Hello,

Ok so I think I have a clog in my black print head. I have read on another post about cleaning the head with a solution of simple green. If I try that will it make it worst if I have to send it in to brothers? Or will it not make a difference if I try to clean it my self before I send it to brothers? Thank you very much.

Also what else can one use to swap the print head? I ran out of the swabs that came with the kit? Thank you.

I found on Roland's website a box of cleaning swaps (and I alway need more swaps than what comes in the kit!) VersaCAMM VP-300i and VP-500i
Under Misc. Inkjet Accessories, part number IJ-SWABKIT5-50 $21.25 for the box of 50.IJ-SWABKIT5-50Swab Kit, Qty 50, 5in Swabs (Inkjet)$21.25

Did you try this? How did it go? Did you dilute the simple green?
One tech told me to use simple green anda brother rep said nooooooooo
Simple green has the ability to start delaminating the print head. If you let the print head soak in the simply green fluid, it will most likely shorten your print head life. This is the information that came straight from Brother and the tech that tries to refurb the print heads that people send in.

What is the answer to cleaning the heads. Its far to expensive @ over $1,000.00 head to replace. I will to try any cleaning procedure to recondition my own print heads. Also were is the best supplier for the internal parts like ink tubes. My machine has been setting for over two years. Need the ink cartridges replace, and the tubes. A service tech told me he would change out the tubes using a kit for $342.00. How much does those tubes really cost? Any input or directions is appreciated. 850-482-2596
