So...I'm finally ready to lay vinyl to cotton. But I see that the vinyl is kind of dusty (almost more dirty).

So my question is do you do clean your vinyl before laying it down or ? And if so, what do you use? A damp cloth? Tack-cloth? Tack cloth seems like it might impart a bit of wax residue.

Or is in not really an issue unless it's horrible?

Yea if it came to you dusty please call back the company you bought it for and complain
But when I have heat applied vinyl or Vinyl for signs laying around I always use a microfiber cloth and just wipe it down Always use like a sticky roller for the shirts to get off any link or dust before you press

No...poor workspace as well as figuring out how to stop the roll from feeding through (entirely) as it determines the size of the inserted vinyl. (FYI on the Graphtec, you just need to hit the "enter" button after it's pushed out a [more than] reasonable length [say 15" or so] and it will then go back to the origin point to begin your job...this will keep YARDS of media off the floor as well as not needing to pile up those yards behind the cutter when it retracts them as well).

I would bet that static in cold/dry winter areas would also garner some dust/dirt.

I'm learning.

No, you need to set your Graphtec to roll1, and it will not go fed but a couple of inches. When you load your media, see if it says, roll1, roll2, or sheet, if it does not say roll1 press the "up" arrow until it does and it will not feed more than it has to. Hope this helps.
