hey everyone, i was wondering about claria ink on magnet paper because i just printed on some cheap piece of thin magnet paper from staples and the Claria ink on the paper started to Run the next day out in the rain. I made a magnet for my car just as a sample before i went and bought some real magnet paper, is there something that i should spray on the sheet or design before i complete the project? please let me know. The claria ink is supposed to be water resistant, is it the ink, or the cheap piece of magnet paper or do i need to spray some kind of protectant on it?

Claria inks are water resistant but not on vinyl surface that doesn't have some kind of receptive coating. I have had good results on opaque transfer paper that is actually some kind of vinyl/plastic and it is color fast even in the washer. Also, I don't ever buy supplies from staples. office depot or any of the el cheapo stores. If you want good materials to work with, call fellers or any of the real sign suppliers and ask for some aqueous receptive vinyl sheets or rolls you can cut down to size. Don't know if they would have them but I have gotten some samples of stuff that would have done what you want but would need to be laminated to last. Good luck.
Terry
PS I don't remember what the stuff was called.
