Has anyone else bought the CISS system from these guys? I bought the system with the pigment ink already loaded and haven't had any issues at all with the performance. Its only today that I noticed that when I tried printing a logo from Adobe Illustrator, the red came out a lot darker, more like maroon which got me looking into how to fix this.

Naturally I came on here first and had a look around but could only find links to the Cobra CIS from the US, I'm not sure on how similar these 2 systems are but would like some possible guidance on setting up an ICC profile so that what I see on my monitor is what prints out. As a beginner I didn't really want to play with the settings too much so I thought I would throw the question out here. I will mainly be using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop if that helps.

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi, i`m looking at the same system, did you solve the problem? Is the CIS easy to install? Are the prints ok when compared to the original epson ink?

Sorry for the ton of questions, newbie here as well.

Cheers
Hi Pringles,

Yeah I seemed to sort it. It was actually more a case of ICC profiles between my Laptop and printer. I just printed a couple of test pages to clean the lines a bit and it now prints lovely, vibrant colours on photo settings. I would recommend this printer, especially with the CIS system from City Ink as it has been brilliant for me, this is the only problem to date that I have had and its my fault due to changing the colour profiles in Adobe. Hope this helps and let me know if you decide to get this printer.

Yeap,

it definitely helps. Thanks for the quick and honest reply. You haven`t printed t-shirt transfers with this ink, yes? Because plan to use this printer for that, but if the colors are ok, there shouldn`t be any problems with the transfer paper too, i guess.

Will post my experience if i get this system.

ps did you download the profiles or set them manually?

Hey,

No probs mate, Im just passing on the knowledge that others from here gave me :) I have used the printer for transfers a well but am still on the lookout for a good heat press so havent been able to press them properly yet. Let me know how you get on and what transfer papers you use. Good luck :D

I`ve ordered the 25 A4 sheets of JPSS from Yolo and 10 A4 3G Jet Opaque from Yolo. Will be printing the first few with stock Epson inks, i`ve got a heat press (some generic one but works fine). Will keep you posted on the results.

From what i`ve read the best transfer paper for darks is Neenah Laser Clip for Darks (Yolo), but i haven`t got a color laser printer (the best brand for this is Oki Data but I haven`t been able to get a good toner refill price), so thats next on my list, although it`ll have to wait some time, since first i`ve got to get the ink jet transfers right.
