Nice article. You did a good job on laying out how Pinterest can be of value to decorating businesses.

We do have boards for EnMart - although I have to admit I hadn't thought of having a blog board, which is weird, because I write two blogs for the company. So that's an idea I may have to pursue.

I have used pininterest for our line with good enough results. Doesn't take to long and if nothing else you can always see some good stuff

I got a spam message from Pinterest in my backup Gmail account yesterday. It was definitely a real message from Pinterest from a spammer using it.

Spam happens all the time. What bothers me is that it had my real first name. I don't usually send out emails with my name on that account, it goes out with the company name. There are also very few companies that I've done business with (i.e. ordered supplies) through that email that would have that information, probably about five or six, so I'm very interested in knowing who shared it with Pinterest. Despite the fact that "nothing is private" on the internet, I very rarely see spam with my name on it vs. "Dear User" or "Dear Bank Account #XYZ", even on the main account that goes out with my name on it. I'm willing to blame my former domain registration company out of spite, but I really don't know.

Interesting - did you contact Pinterest to see if they could track it down for you? My guess is that they would want to nail a lid on that activity as soon as they could...

I just joined - asked for an invite from my facebook friends and got one within 10 minutes.

I like the way you can post up photos from your website/blog and the source is retained. I would think it makes for some good seo content

Ya I've found that models work better then blank shirts. It lets the customer better picture what they look like in them

Certainly will do, Marshall.

I just got incorporated, which is the first hurdle of 3 here in Cayman. Just applying for my trade and business license, (and then the dreaded Caymanian work permit), before I officially launch the new company.

Since we're talking traffic and marketing:

I'm also currently filming some HD videos so customers can see and understand what is involved, (eg. screen charges explained), to show the equipment we have in the shop, (to reassure the customer we are legit), and drive traffic to my new website, (youtube is awesome for google listings). They also get to see what a thoroughly nice, goodlooking and knowledgable printer they have at their disposal. ha ha!

All of this will be initiated from the blog on my website, so that anyone clicking through will eventually be driven to the site, so helping with google rankings.

All twitter and FB posts will also be initiated from the blog to drive more traffic to the site. If you click on a FB post for example, it will automatically take you to the blog post on my website that created that FB post.
