Cheap yet Effective Flash Dryer?

1912 Views 4 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  WesB
Hey,

I'm starting to sell shirts on the side and I am looking for a cheap, but effective Flash dryer. The cheapest I have seen have been on eBay. Are the $300 ones sold on there any good? I don't need a really nice one, but one that will dry my shirts well and fairly quickly.

Any Suggestions?

Also is there a difference b/t curing between colors and a final cure? Do you heat them differently?

Thanks

I would spend the extra $100 and get one from a reputable supply co. I have had the basic one from here Screen Printing Flash Dryers, flash dryer, spot dryer, screen printing spot dryer, screen printing dryer for 2 years and it works great.
I agree. If you buy something cheap now it may cost you later in having to buy another one in the long hall. Id invest in it. Its the best thing you can do.

In between colors you don't actually "cure", you just dry the ink enough to apply the new color, either over it, or on the side. If the previous color isn't dry enough when it touches the underside of the screen it will create a little nasty mess.
When all is done, THEN you cure it. Union Ink says the ink has to be heated at ~325 for 30 seconds for a complete cure.
For flash dry you just heat it for about 10 - 15 secs. enough to feel non sticky to the touch.
Thanks For your Help guys.
