Came across these the other day on Amazon. I think they were like $23 shipped to my door for 50 sheets. 8.5x11" <shrug>

I haven't used any 'transparancy' films that work well.

Fixxons will ship twice as many for less than twice what you'd pay for those--I haven't used them, but have heard them recommended more than a couple times.

I agree with ScreenFoo. Transparencies are good for an overhead projector but not for making screens. Also, with transparencies, the ink may come off onto the screen if there is any moisture and make it difficult to wash it out. Spending a little more on waterproof films are worth it in the end to avoid hassle.

I get 100 sheets under $40 for 8.5x11 and under$70 for 11x17. WP film I'll find a link later tonight.

The thing is that you don't want to skimp on any of the key essential elements of screen making especially if you are a beginner. Poor/sub-par films lead to poor sub-par exposure and stencils. So you're stopping before you even start. I understand the money issue but you save by lessening the liklihood of disaster and frustration which keeps you from the good part.

Check Calibrated Screen Supply also. And start with "waterproof" film.

And remember when you're practicing you don't have to use full sheets of film if you're concerned about wasting (and you don't have to use full coated screens either. 1/4's or 1/8's will suffice).

yea.... Fixxons- $32 shipped, 100 sheets. Better deal than I got. Leason learned. For whateer reason, they did not pop up in any of my searches. SSS wants almost $60 to ship 100 sheets.

fixxons.com is about the same, and great customer service. Also have trial packs if you aren't sure. What was the link for your supplier?

That's who I use is fixxons. They have lowered their prices since that post last year.
