I purchased a Mod 1 and started printing around Jan 15. While the machine printed well, I was getting banding after only about 6-8 prints. A quick cleaning cycle and I was good for another 6-8 prints.

The area that I set the machine was in the gental breeze of a HVAC system. The humidity was normally around 30 percent.

After reading the forums reguarding humidity levels, I decided to move the machine. I had a side room that was cylinder block with no HVAC. Lovingly called "THE HOLE" this room was always dark and damp. I set the machine up and WOW what a difference!
We recently did a 200 shirt order and did one head clean during the run. Now it is common to print daily orders without a head clean other than the start up proceedure.
The humidity in "the hole" now stays around 60%. When the summer temps require some cooling, I will run a small evaporative cooler in the room. I would never have believed that it could have made this much difference. Hope this helps someone.

It's good that you posted this. It took me years to realize how important climate control can be with DTG printing.

I think alot of people don't take it as serious as they should.

Yea, we've done some large jobs, 100-200 shirts that I would normally send out to screenprint.

But I've for an un-employeed kid that I can work or pay not to work. So we print!

Glad to hear about your success! I originally setup my printer in the back den of my house where I thought the conditions would be perfect. Little did I know, even the AC coming in the ceiling vent during the summer can kill your prints. I have since attached a magnetic cover to the metal vent cover and it's perfect. Keep crankin' out those shirts!
