I was just removing my black ink cartridge when the chip got caught on one the gold prongs in the carriage. It pulled the chip off of the cartridge and the prong out of the carriage. I can't find cartridges for sale on the EQ site. And can I put the prong back in the carriage? I don't know if I can afford a new carriage right now too.You would have to call in for them. We do offer the chip sets but we recommend buying the complete cartridges as a safer option. If you do not mount the replacement chip correctly on the cartridge you have a chance of damaging the gold prongs in the carriage assembly.

I need to overnight both. I tried to find a place on the website to order...but can not find the cartridges. You can't put individual gold prongs back on the sensor connector. You can pull out the broken connector with a long nose plier and replace it with a new one. We do have the connectors and replacement ink cartridges available.

Everytime I try to put the new connector in the prongs get caught on the chip in the back and bends them. I'm pretty sure I'm close to bending them beyone repair. Is there an easy way to get this connector in?We do have them. Please give us a call.

After breaking the first connector I called support while replacing the 2nd connector. I slid a small piece of paper between where the connector goes and the board behind it. Slid it right in...pulled the paper out. Presto. It's in.
After replacing the black ink cartridge and the connector I have a solid error light. I pulled ink through the cartridge.
Is there a way to reset the machine now that the parts are replaced?
The ink lightThe error/eject light or ink light?
Huh...you know how to reset the ink when it does this while printing? if you do and have done that it might be that the prongs are not making good contact on the chip or in the wrong place from being bent. The ink light

try to look at the cart next to it (remove both) and see if the prongs look like they are close to the same position.
With the printer on...after it's startup cycle (you'll get a solid light on the load and eject buttons) push the ink button once (don't hold it in) the carriage should move to the left a few inches and stop, unsnap the black cartridge and just raise it up out of the carriage for a few seconds, then reseat it into the carriage, push the ink button again and the printer should go into an ink purge/head clean cycle (all the inks lights will flash in a moving pattern) when it finishes the cycle the carriage should move back to the home position over the capping station and the light should be off.How do I reset the ink?
The connection look lined up exactly the same.
