I am having alignment issues where certain areas on each print are fuzzy. I have performed a bidirectional alignment. I have leveled the bed. I have re-leveled the bed to match the platen variations, but nothing really fixes the alignment.

I was wondering if loose carriage rails might be causing my issue. My carriage rails (the back set near rear of the printer) are loose. Very loose. When the carriage moves the rail moves away from and then closer depending on the location of the printhead carriage.

If this might be the cause of my issue, is there something I can do to fix the loose rail? It seems I need some adhesive or grease to get the rail to stay in place.

Thanks.

My rails are quite loose but no issues.

Examine the print carriage drive belt for correct tension. Ensure the teeth are not clogged with ink/debris. Check all the drive train cogs for similar. Ensure the encoder strip is clean and not showing signs of wear. Check sensors are clean and fixed properly.
