Hello,
we are fighting some black and white ink starvation issues, but in addition the carriage is moving slow, taking a long time to "think". For example, nozzle check took an unusually long time, because there were pauses before the usual steps. Also, we re-oiled the rod, but the carriage movement is not smooth at all times.

It seems like there are several problems at once, and we don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. After an attempt to print, the carriage seems to be functioning, but the ink is not coming out no matter what. We switched to our refurbished head and it's a similar picture - poor white and black. Cartridges and dampers seem ok, head is clean when flushing it.
We changed the capping station two months ago and we clean it on a regular basis. Should we replace the capping station anyway?

you wanna go for steps first make sure its not your usb cable, try to replace it, did you check the ribbon cable of the printhead? make sure its clean and dry, as to ink starvation i have found in dupount an image armor ink that once the black ink dry on the printhead it can be hard to recover, also you wanna make sure youre printhead its clean around the edges and its making perfect and sealed contact with the capping station

Hi,

Yep concur with NeedShirtsNow - slow movement is usually head overheating which is often caused by
ink starvation - the ink cools the head. Can also be poor USB connectivity since data is spooled (sent in
chunks to printer because RIP files are massive and printer buffer is relatively small in comparison)
so if USB connection poor and PC has to slow down speed then printer waits for data to arrive.

Good luck

I would go with a fried cable to the print head. Pull it and look for flash marks.
