I purchased an entire shop of equipment and one thing I got was a 6/6 Manual Press.... looks to be a CAPS press...

The only reason I say that is because it is "orange"! But it is really solid and prints great. We took it apart to get it out the building it was in and we cant find any markings telling what it is?

Can anybody direct me to where I could get parts for this press.

Thanks

Ya, I have been to that site. But the back clamp on my press is SO much better built. that's why I don't think it is a CAPS press.

I was hoping that more people in the Forum would help me on identifying the press by looking past the orange color.

I have an older CAPS press. It's not built like that. I agree some of the design details are similar. Look at some of the presses on the Internet and see what you can use. What parts you need? I have a 4 color 4 station hat press that has the same clamps. If the price is right I may sell a part off it.

I also have a 4-color 1-station CAPS (HAT) press that I don't use, but the parts are much much cheaper made and not 100% the same.

I had a CAPS press like those shown. The newer presses they sell are different, and I'm not sure in a good way. My only beef with mine was the micros. Otherwise, a decent press. I still have my CAPS dryer, which I paid $1400 for new from Alan when he owned the company in Tennessee. I got the 6-color press for $1650 plus shipping. It was supposed to be a floor model from shows. It was brand new.

Ha ha! I'm not that good. I just bought this press and the previous owner cleaned it up and repacked, regreased the bearings.

I'm just a hobbyist learning the trade and I must say it has been fun. I bought a 4 color single station magnetic benchtop press with a couple of flash dryers and an exposure unit for $250. Kinda outgrew the magnet press so I thought I needed something better. Now if I can only find an affordable conveyor dryer :)

Ranar has a small 110v Scamp 200 dryer that I believe would be perfect for you. Small light, so you can drag it around the press. Easy to work on. I got two that we have been having for years. They where originally on a mobile press trailer running off a generator. So they don't burn too much electricity.

  • 110 volt or 220 volt power configuration
  • 75 shirts per hour production
  • 150 cap per hour production
  • Adjustable panel height and angle
  • Insulated oven
  • Fully variable belt speed (0-12 fpm)
  • High quality teflon coated fiberglass belt for long life
  • 5 foot long conveyor
  • 18" belt width

What "without your wife knowing"? You should have her printing while you watch the game!

The reason they originally went with this little dryer is because it has the exact heating element as the flash.... and when the unit was on the road if they had a problem they could simply change out one for the other.... It is bsically a flash dryer with a temp. control, on off switch and a belt!

But small enough for a small-med size busn. the only down side is it would slow down a faster press.

But if you are starting out will be fine. If you can find one used for a few bucks... they are nothing to work on.

it's most definitely a caps press. I think they may have switched over to producing or just selling cheaper made and less capable machines. the stuff on their site doesnt look the same any more.

I have a 4 color bench top cap press that is very similar to your bigger press. but your is indeed a caps...MSP

I have had to make parts for the Caps Press, because the ones offered through the site are so VERY cheaply made. I had someone send me photos of their press and it was very similar. I originally thought it could be a CAPS press but still to this day have not found one 100% like mine...? The body and arms on my press are different from any I have seen. The parts I need are in the clamps and some of the adjustment knobs are stripped. So i am having to drill them out and retread them!!!! Pain in the A**!
