Can anyone please tell me if it's possible to use a cap press for heat pressing on kids clothes - as my designs would fit on a cap press.

yes it is possible. Many people use cap presses for small designs on sleeves and such. umbrellas etc.

Yes, you can use a cap press if the size of the transfer is no larger than the platen size.
