Can't get colours right on Epson WF-7015

Hi all,
I think I know the answer to this problem, but I'd like conformation please.

I can't get printed colour any where near the screen colours in any program. Yes,I'm using cheap inks. I'm expecting everyone to say that is the problem and I need expensive ink. If so, what make? And what make of paper?

Do I need .icc profile? If so, is there a combination of ink and paper that has a profile for the WF-7015?

Your help would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Simcap

They are a bulk ink I assume from china.
Got them off eBay.

Yes, you need and ICC profile for you sub inks and printer, also, even with a sub profile your screen colors won't match your printed paper ... with a calibrated monitor (ICC for the monitor) then you might be able to match screen to final transfer more closely.

Sublimation colors are different heat pressed vs. what is on the printed paper.
What kind of Ink? Are you using Pigment Ink, Dye Sublimatiion or Dye ink?

What will you be using the printer for?
Thanks for the rsponse.

1. I an useing dye sublimation inks and printing on paper to be transferred onto mugs, t shirts and almost anything I can get my hands on that you can sublimate on.

2. To clarify, when I say my colours don't match the screen. They look almost watered out. Not at all vibrant, green is more gray than green and blue is very dark. Black is dark gray, red is also dull with a gray feel to it, the only colour that is almost right is yellow, but even that has no vibrancy. I know the printer can print great colour, as with the proper ink in it, it's fine.

So, what I need to know is the correct ink and paper to use that already has a profile created?

Thanks all.
Every printer is different - not every 7015 is going to print alike, add to that the different available and inks and transfer papers, there are too many possible variations (before you even start on the variances caused by the heat pressing process itself, or the variety of blanks you will print to) that the idea of someone else's ICC working for you not very realistic.
Get a profile made, they aren't expensive, and will get you the best results from your combination of inks/paper/printer.
We do our own profiling for our work, and have different profiles for the different product types we print to, for each printer we use.
So what inks should I get to maintain formula prints. Will it need to be sawgrass or sublinova? And what is the best paper to get. Once I have standardised, I can get a profile done.

Thanks
Sublimation colors are different heat pressed vs. what is on the printed paper.
Echoing what Mike said, a printed Sub transfer is very dull looking, with the colors being WAY different than what the final outcome will be. It must be heat activated for the colors to actually develop into the final bright colors.

Have you tried to press the transfers yet?
true, heat activated, If that's not it, make sure your colors are RGB, not cymk. that can be a problem. good luck uncletee.
Sublinova will save you a fortune compared to Sawgrass, and is a high quality commercial/industrial ink, compared to Sawgrass' consumer inks.
With Sublinova being such a good price per ml, there is no point going for unbranded or cheap Chinese inks.
You will still need an ICC profile making for you though, as InkTec only provide ICC profiles for wide format printers.
Can't remember if you said your monitor and printer have been calibrated or not.
Not yet. Going to standardise paper and ink then get profile done.
