Hi guys I have a small screen printing job of 20 t-shirts and wondered if I could use my swing away heat press to cure the white water based ink?

The swing head on the heat press sits about an inch and about 3 inches away from the plate and obviously can kick out a lot of heat.
If this can be done, what temp and time should the press be set at please??

What temp is a standard flash dryer stand set at?

Thanks for taking the time to read this and any advice on this is welcome.

Water based ink cures at 220-230 degrees and you can see the water evaporating when this happens. When I used my heat press to cure water based ink I set it to 275 degrees for about 30 seconds, around this time I could see the steam from the water evaporating coming from under the press. Time and temp may vary a little depending on the brand of inks and heat press you use but, you should be able to see the water evaporating so that should help you get an average time to use for you exact situation. Be sure to let the ink dry at least to touch and use parchment paper or a teflon sheet to cover the design.
