Can you set GX-24 to spit out less material at the beginning?

I got a GX-24 recently to cut ps poly twill. Whenever I cut something it spits out about 5 inches before it starts cutting. This causes a lot of waste. How do you set it so it starts cutting right away and doesn't feed a bunch of material through for no reason?

I figured it out. I was pressing the origin button all different ways, but unless you hold it down for a really long time it doesn't take. Wouldn't let me delete my first message though.
