quick question here...is it possible to build a press that would print...lets say a full color picture of myself or would i have to buy one...i have seen some sites with plans to build 4 color presses but the example shirts usually have simple images with text and shapes....the advice would be much appreciated.

:welcome:

to print photos, just buy a computer special that comes with a free bubble jet printer. OR, you can buy the printer alone for about $ 200 if already have a computer.

This may work out better for now. Screen Print equip. can get sort of expensive.
I think the poster is talking about printing full photos with a home built screen printing press. If that's possible or not.

Hopefully some of our screen printing experts will be able to help out here :)
you can print just about anythign with a home built press. More than likely the quality your wanting will not be there though. Depending on the images your wanting to reproduce and the number of color required to produce that replica will be a major factor as well.
A home built press will not have the the registration abilities as a professional press will.

first of all thank you for taking the time to help ....now that thats answered...do you know of any screen presses that will do image jobs..i am willing to buy one if it can do this.

thanks again family.
There are a number of manual presses that have the capabilities of holding registration to print photo-like images. But it's going to take a LOT more than a good press to get to that point.

Fluid is the man to talk to. He does a lot of high end printing...
cool thanks...i guess i'll just stick to the basics till i get nice enough. i just had some ideas that i've used heat transfers for but i wanna get them to screen. cause they say the shirt quality would be better.
