I'm the kind of person that prides himself in being able to research properly and find the answers he needs. But trying to learn about T-Shirt printing has proven to be a beast of a task. So I'm hoping someone could at least point me in the right direction.

Long story short, I've recently become aware that some printers, like the Epson 4880 are actually able to be used as a hybrid and do BOTH sub and heat transfer, eliminating the need to choose. Unfortunately, as much as I'd love to get the 4880, it's out of my price range.

That's why I would like to ask if I could use the Epson 3880 instead? Research says that while the 4880 has several useful features, print quality is around the same, but the 3880 comes at 1/2 the price. But can I even use the 3880 as a hybrid? Does it work properly as a hybrid?

And more importantly, I can't even fathom how ICC for a hybrid printer works. Assuming I can use the 3880 as a hybrid, how would I go around making it work like one? Truly clueless about this one.

Seems I keep changing my mind all the time. While I don't think I'll do both sub and heat transfer combo on the printer. I'm now considering to still use it as a hybrid and possibly do sub and regular ink for posters. So if anyone has some knowledge on using this printer as a hybrid, please let me know how to do so.
