hi I am just starting up in the uk I am looking for somewhere to get either free or buy a database of ready to use slogans and designs any help would be greatly appreciated, also any advice you might think would be of use to my business would be a bonus thanks again

I'm more looking for wallart quotes already done t-shirt slogans and transfers that I can just print or sent to cutter with out sitting down for a good few days and doing all of them myself, as I have a full time job aswell as 5 kids its really hard to start or is it a case of you have to design your own and build a portfolio??

you can buy packages, like this (action illustrated)

if your just doing slogans i would recommend spending ~$25 on serif's drawplus,
it has some really good text features plus many pre-loaded shapes/distorts/etc.
plus it is quick to learn the basics and you can export to svg for your cutter

go to fontsquirrel and dafont (i have the link defaulted to free for commercial use),
download any font that catches your eye

gather your 5 kids round the computer and show them your cool new program for t-shirt design
see which of the 5 it captivates and use it as a bonding/learning opportunity with them
(tell the other children the salt-mine is hiring)

Just get on etsy and copy some. That's what a lot of people do.
