Today I got some beautiful leather jackets and vest that have cool wings and rose designs on them. After looking close at the designs I have determined they are not patches nor real sewn in embroidery.

They seem to be a very thin fabric, I'm not even sure if they are made of thread. The wings are reflective at night. I would love to know what they are and how I can buy them in different designs. I would love to heat press or glue them onto other leather and denim items. Anyone know what they are and where to get them? Thank you.

Most likely they are heat transfer vinyl, I believe they may have some that can be transferred with low heat. Thermoflex Xtra says it could be used on Leather.

Thanks, but no this is something else. It almost feels like another piece of colored leather. It is thick and very nice quality.

Looking at the picture, and seeing that cord the same color was it sewed together when made and not applied after ?

I'm not sure, hard to tell. It could have been made at the same time it was being put together.

The shiny things are stainless steel studs. The black thin parts do look like embroidered designs. But the purple wings I have no idea. They are solid and thick. Look fantastic but no idea what they are.

This is a fully manufactured product. Between the studs and the purple striping this was intended to be used this way from the get go. most likely its custom cut leather used as an applique technique or because it was done pre assembly of the jacket could have been stitched and embroidered together via carriers. Or they are using some sort of thermo bonded material. Stahls thermo-film can be used as a tearaway applique material that gets bonded post embroidery.
