You will probably have to buy a special cable (Keyspan Serial to USB adapter - 45.00) so you do not have static problems?......Also, you only get a trial version of Signcut which needs to be renewed after a year at a cost of 270.00.....Or you have to put up with Signblazer which is an old program with no support because the author has been dead for years....It is a good programs but there is quite the learning curve and it does not work directly with Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw...

I figure you really need a budget of 815.00 although you do not have to spend it all at once.....And you really should buy a stand, another 60.00.....A cutter works better on a stand which results in less wasted material.....

Before I bought my cutter I read every forum I could find and could not convince myself that a cutter from US Cutter would be a wise choice......

I ended up buying a GCC Expert 24 and it has been rock solid.....They now have a GCC Expert 24LX which does contour cutting.....With a stand it is 685.00 from Imprintables......It has a plug in that allows you to use Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw...And it comes with Great Cut software which does not expire....

A cutter will make you enough money to pay for itself very quickly......So do yourself a favour and buy a better machine if you can.....Good luck....

Perfect!! I use adobe illustrator so then that'll be a good machine, what website should i but the cutter from?
thanks, you think this will do a good countour cut for transfer paper?
Royce I could not have said it better. The other would fit the budget but if you want to see how to really do things from the ground up then yes. However, it you want life to be a lot easier and not reinvent the wheel each time then your recommendation for entry level is great. I do use the GX24 but that is pricey for that budget, but I have the other 2 and your recommendation is spot on.
that cutter has a lot of user support at the us cutter forums and at a rival vinyl forum. you should start there because there are some maintenance things you need to do before you start using it.

also, buy cleancut blades, they are the best.

otherwise ours has run for over 3 years solid nearly every day. sometimes we start it at 5am and it goes until late in the night. broke one pinch roller and got a replacement right away from usc.

and the best part....... our first job paid for the cutter. go figure (we got it on ebay for just over $400)
are you talkin about the us cutter?
