hi people,

I didnt find any printhead for a good price. they all cant sell me the printhead because the DTG has no EPSON serial number. is that true? What are my options now?

Can I buy a new R1900 and take the cappingstation and printhead out of it? Then I would also have a EPSON serial number and could order the parts...

Can I buy another printer also?

I hope you can help me.

What brand DTG printer do you have? As far as I know they all have serial numbers. I've always been able to get parts using the DTG printers serial number.

No that one is fine. Epson just wants to know where the heads are going.

the only guy on ebay selling the heads and for now and :: The Supplies Shop. but they told me they need a EPSON serial number, I will check that tomorrow...

Two ways to go here:

1) buy a used epson 2400 on ebay or locally and then you have a serial number.

2) ask a question about one that is on ebay- "what is the serial number so I can check the history through epson?" Then you also have a serial number.

Either method will work and get you what you want.

Please note that the HM1-C can be one of two configurations. The earlier units were straght Epson 2400's chassis, printhead & all. The later units were Espon 1900's with 2400 motherboards in them. Buying a used 1900 would certainly handle the printhead issue, but nothing else in it would be usable if the printer is one of the older ones.

if the driver on windows tells me it is a 2400er model, is it one or can it be a 1900?

well,the serial-number is 060571. can anybody check if I need a 1900 or 2400 printhead?

60571 is an older unit - it would be a pure 2400. You can use either a 2400 or 1900 head in it, but the capping station & carriage must be 2400, not 1900.
